Atkinson and Smith family papers
This collection consists of personal papers belonging to the Atkinson and Smith families as well as business papers related to the Baltimore Chemical Works, a firm operated from 1833-1851 by James E. Atkinson (d. 1851) and his brother-in-law, Robert Marsh Smith (1813-1893).
Henry Moore diary
This collection consists of a xerox copy of a diary attributed to Henry Moore, a Baltimore merchant. The diary covers the period 1807-1809, and records his trip from Baltimore to Knoxville, Tennesse to establish a business.
Hicks correspondence
This collection contains correspondence to and from members of the Hicks family, 1833-1883. The primary correspondents include Captain Ratcliffe Hicks, his sons Charles R. Hicks and Alfred Hicks, his daughter Elizabeth Hicks Harding, and her husband, William Harding. The letters contain news on family and business affairs, chiefly news of sea trade.
